Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs)– Thirty-six (36) in Louisiana provide information regarding in-home services, transportation, and referrals for senior services. Each AAA has different services but may include the following common services:
- Access – information and referral to health and social services, transportation,
- In-Home Services – chore, homemaker, personal care, home-delivered meals, home repair
- Community Services – senior centers, congregate meals, nursing home ombudsman, elder abuse prevention, legal assistance, wellness and recreation.
- Caregiver Support – respite, counseling and education programs
